A month before its season two debut, Netflix has renewed Orange is the New Black for a third season. No official press release has been issued (at least yet), but the announcement was made on Instagram via Laura Prepon:
No word yet on when season three of Orange is the New Black will launch.
In addition, WGN America has renewed its first original drama, Salem, for a second season.
The drama debuted to a strong 1.52 million viewers (0.5 demo) – the largest audience for a WGN America series in nearly a decade. Week two; however, was not as kind to the Salem, with the audience falling to 770,000 viewers (0.3 demo). Numbers for week three are not out yet, but WGN America must be pleased or they would have waited a few more weeks to make the announcement.
Salem will return in 2015 for 13 episodes.
