On the heels of yesterdays three season pickup for The Big Bang Theory, CBS has renewed an additional 18 series for the 2014-15 television season.
First up, CBS has renewed five more of its comedy series: 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, The Millers, Mom, and Two and a Half Men, which may be heading into its final season.
Best known for its procedural dramas, the network has also renewed Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, CSI, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Person of Interest, and always-on-the-bubble, The Good Wife.
Joining Survivor (which was renewed for two-seasons a few months back) in the reality department is long-running The Amazing Race and reliable Undercover Boss.
Finally, CBS has also given additional season orders to newsmagazines 60 Minutes and 48 Hours.
Left off the renewal list are freshmen The Crazy Ones, Hostages, and Intelligence – none of which are all too surprising. The Crazy Ones has under-performed in its new 930 timeslot, Hostages ran for 15 low-rated episodes in the fall, and Intelligence has been nearly as low as Hostages. Also left off the list of renewals is long-running The Mentalist, which is not owned by CBS. It has long been rumored this would be the final season for The Mentalist, but it is possible it could squeak out one more season, depending on CBS’ development slate.
All together, CBS has renewed 20 shows thus far.
